Red Bean Nian Gao and Turnips Nian Gao (Festive Goodies) @ LingZhi Vegetarian Restaurant

LingZhi Vegetarian @ Liat Tower Level 5
While on the way to Whole Earth Restaurant to purchase their Prosperity Abalone Fruit Enzyme YuSheng as take-away, I made a trip to LingZhi Vegetarian Restaurant at Liat Tower to purchase their Nian Gao as gift again!

Last Sunday, I had just bought the Turnips Nian Gao for my neighbour. Yesterday, they told me they really enjoyed it very much even their kid likes it too. Not a big fan of Nian Gao  but I like that it symbolises - advancing to greater prosperity for the New Year, that make the gift meaningful and it is the Chinese Tradition to speak good words during CNY period.

Red Bean Nian Gao (S$18+) and Turnips Nian Gao (S$20+)
This time round, I went to LingZhi @ Liat Tower to get the Tung Lok Festive Goodies - Red Bean Nian Gao and Turnips Nian Gao  which which was on my shopping list.

Took some pictures on the direction to LingZhi @ Liat Tower, because it is not that easy to find it, if you are not aware or have never been to the place. And it is a little difficult to describe, a picture speaks a thousand words -
If you are at Orchard MRT or ION - Under path to Wheelock Place
Outside Wheelock Place, just continue to walk to the end, but don't cross the road, just turn right ...
Here, you are at Liat Tower Entrance, turn right ...
Walk in, take the lift to Level 5, when the lift door open - you are @ Lingzhi

And I managed to take the photo of the beautiful Buddha Painting on the wall (but I didn't manage to capture it well)! I don't keep any Buddha images but I just like this Buddha Painting. I love to choose the seat facing this Buddha Painting whenever I dined in Lingzhi when they were at Orchard Tower. Maybe, what I like is the eye on this Buddha Art Piece, it kinds of denote - Gazes upon living beings with eyes of compassion!

Gazes upon LIVING BEINGS with eyes of COMPASSION ...

LingZhi Vegetarian Restaruants are under Tung Lok Group with a big team of Professional Chefs and they have a Celebrity Chef.  Quite a famous holding locally and internationall,y and they operate many restaurants under different dinning concepts and had many awards.

So, it is great that they have included 2 Vegetarian Restaurants that bring serves high standard and detectable vegetarian cuisine that all of us can enjoy. In Singapore, some of the vegetarian eateries are operated by non-vegetarian like Raj Group Restaurant consiste of Jade of India (multi-cuisine - vegetarian and non vegetarian), Cafe Salivation and Raj Restaurant (purely vegetarian cuisine).

Many years back while dinning with non-vegetarian at Lao Beijing, their vegetarian dishes option was delectable but just too few.  If not, it would be a nice idea that vegetarian, semi-vegetarian and non-vegetarian (local or tourist) can visit their different dinning concepts restaurants to enjoy a good meal and yet have different dining experiences.

They really present the vegetarian cuisine well especially their monkey head mushroom dishes that are well loved by vegetarian or non-vegetarian. To me, vegetarian cuisine just like any other cuisine, does not really mean that vegetarian food is only for vegetarian. Always looking forward to more innovative vegetarian cuisine from them.

The staffs at LingZhi Liat Tower are very friendly, knowledgeable and it likes seeing old friends.  I just learnt a tip from them - how to prepare the grated coconut (steamed with pinch of salt) to go with the Traditional Nian Gao and how their guests love it this way.  That really makes dinning an enjoyable experience over at LingZhi at Liat Tower.

Where: LingZhi Vegetarian. 541 Orchard Road #05-01 Liat Towers. Singapore 238881. Tel: 6734 3788.

He he I went there once. With F. we celebrated there the end of my psycho training. The food was very great. I remember we had fun with vegetables and noodles that we were unable to grasp with our chopsticks so slippery they were. We never bought anything there though.
