My 20 years as a Vegetarian … a reflection!

20 years ago, I have made a decision to go vegetarian and I am still a vegetarian today – a happy vegetarian.
It was a choice, not because of religion or any other reasons.

I glad that in life I have a choice, to choose what I believe to be right. I am proud of myself for this sincere commitment to be a vegetarian for 20 years and still going.

A wonderful and great achievement for me, I guess.  Out of a sudden, I think the many billions of animals in the animal realm would love me, for I am their friend indirectly.

Few days ago, we were at Sun Plaza but discovered that the vegetarian stall at the food court had closed. We needed to go to the NTUC FoodFare at the Sembawang MRT to find vegetarian food.  My boss asked us, why don’t we don’t be a vegetarian for once?

Without even thinking, I just popped out “No” so fast.  Next, I told him, I have been a vegetarian for 20 years already and I am really happy about it.  I noticed that I was saying this in a very relaxing and with a smile.  The inner joy raised in me.

No matter what other has to say about vegetarian or vegetarian diet, it just does not affect me anymore. Either do I have to prove others wrong and defend my choice. From the inner joy of being a vegetarian and the thought that I did make a wise and right choice, is more than enough to keep me smiling and continue on my path of being a vegetarian in this life.

I am positive that more and more people will discover this inner joy of being a vegetarian or having a vegetarian meal.

With love …

i'm not 'pure' but i avoid any kind of meat.

i just can't bring myself to stomach any meat...

not eating meat makes me happier indeed! unfortunately my hubby and his family aren't non-meat-eater... in fact my hubby is a big-meat-eater... but well, as long as he doesn't force me to eat meat, i'm not forcing him to change his diet as well.

good job on your 20 years and more!

Hey.. Great to have chance upon your post while I was searching for vege restaurants in the west area. I have been a vegetarian for 20 over years but had always felt outcasted by society cos it is rather inconvenient. But recently I have learnt to be stronger and learnt not to feel bad to be a vegetarian and things seem to be looking better. Please continue to post all the vegetarian food finds in your blog and share the love.
