About 3 weeks ago, I received a surprise email from 8 Treasures Vegetarian Restaurant. A surprise! In the email it reads like …
“In Celebration of World Vegetarian Day on 1st October 2009 , Thursday, Eight Treasures Vegetarian Restaurant would like to have the honour of inviting you and guest to an exclusive vegetarian dining experience at our restaurant.
From that day onward, I have been thinking who am I going with? Finally, I decided not to bring my family members but to bring a non-vegetarian friend along to enjoy this new experience on vegetarian food – the theme - “We do not wish to advocate vegetarianism, but only to encourage and educate that vegetarian food is not always fried, oily, and boring.”
As the days passed by, both my friend and I are getting very excited, we have SMS reminders to each other of my meeting and this event. The Special Surprise Menu – Oh what is it? Curiosity can kill the cat. I yearn to know but I don’t know yet, after this evening, I am going to blog about it …
This Surprise Thingy reminds me of what I read from the Supperclub Singapore website - http://www.supperclub.com/ (click on the food&drinks) … so wow, we are having more vegetarian eateries getting real innovative nowadays.
After reading the philosophy and concept of Supperclub (have not been there before), my brain fill with these questions - Do we go to an Eatery, just Eat and Leave? What does the Urban Diner’s who used to eating in best restaurants locally and around the world looking for? What are new twists can be added or concepts that has staying power and continues to excite? What is the proving big draw? What make the creative experience enjoyable, unique and unforgettable? ....? .....? ....
Back to this, if you wonder where is the place, it is in Chinatown:
Eight Treasures Vegetarian Restaurant
282A South Bridge Road
Singapore 058831

This is eatery with nice decor (I try to take some photo today) that I had dined there early last year, and the dishes I ordered which I like so much that I had recreated them. A place I would recommend for Tourist too.

It's a blessing for a vegetarian to have non-vegetarian friends willing to take vegetarian meals with one!
May it be a wonderful, enjoyable & fun nite!:-)
Hi Anonymous
Thank you. It was a beautiful nite and great evening for my non-vegetarian friend and me. Will blog after it soon.
Have great conversation, full of laughters and terrific food ...
I hardly dine with vegetarian, 95% of the non-vegetarian friends or colleagues I had willing to dine with me at Vegetarian Eatery.
It is give and take, and for not so close one, sometime it is we pick neutral places - where non-veg and veg are served.
Cheers :)
