Celebrity Cafe and Bakery @ Universal Studios Singapore

Celebrity Cafe & Bakery near the Entrance ...

Comparing to my previous experience in finding Vegetarian Food in Tokyo Disney Land and Korea Everland Resort few years back, I am happy to spot that the restaurants listed (Universal Studios Singapore) in each different Attractions having a little "Tree" or "Broccoli" which indicates that there is a Vegetarian option!
On the whole, I went to some of the eateries in Universal Studios to check on the Vegetarian Options and discovered that there were very limited choices even If I wanted to have more food. In way, it dampened my mood and became a problem in filling my stomach after the rides and shows.
 Vegetarian Baguette/Sandwiches ...

 Veggie Wrap ...
Spinach Quiche! Vegetarian? Not sure ...

Fruit and Salad - another vegetarian option ...
Friars and Celebrity Cafe & Bakery's vegetarian options are the same.  I was impressed with the professionalism the staff at Celebrity Cafe & Bakery "showed. She willingly went to check whether the Spinach Quiche was suitable for Vegetarian, unfortunately they were not sure about the cheese (cheese with calf/cow rennet in not suitable for Vegetarian or those who do not consume beef). Since I had something similar for lunch, I did not order any.
Hollywood China Bistro at the far end (at entrance)

Hollywood China Bistro has only one vegetarian option too (a fairly good set meal @ $21), if the stir-fry dish is not what I like (e.g Indian Vegetarian from India), do I have to force myself to eat or go hungry, that is the question ...
Dessert Kiosk at " Ancient Egypt" ...

Fruit and salad Kiosk at " Ancient Egypt" ...
Other vegetarian options - maybe the fruit and salad, dessert at these Kiosks ...  Here I end my Vegetarian Food Discovery @ Universal Studios Singapore besides enjoying the shows and rides on a rainy day (wet and hungry) ...

Thanks for a good review of the pro-vegetarian eatery places!
Will revisit your blog sites to plan ahead before my visit to Universal Studio Singapore!

I didn't know about cheese containing calf/cow rennet.
Does label for cheese found in supermarket indicate on their label whether the cheese contain calf/cow rennet or only indicate vegetarian cheese then is it safe as vegetarian?

Thanks!

Hi
You are welcome :D
The ingredients' list will indicate whether it is animal rennet or microbial rennet or made with rennet derived from plants.

I had feedback to Universal Studios, what I mentioned here was during the Soft Opening which should expect some teething problems.

I believe they would take some actions on this and maybe it would be good to email them or call them to check on vegetarian food choices, before planning a trip there.

Cheers :D

hello, I will be going to Resort world and will stay in festive hotel, do you have any idea whether there is any vegetarian food nearby as I am a vegetarian?

Hi Andante S L,

Sorry for the late reply, VivoCity near Sentosa has vegetarian food stall at the foodcourt. The other vegetarian outlets, might have to travel a bit further out.

In Sentosa, there should be one at the foodcourt near the beach, but again, you can check with the information centre at sentosa just to make sure there are still operating.

Will post here, if I have more info.

Enjoy your trip and have fun.

Cheers : )

Hi Kumar,

No worries, Universal Studios Singapore is rather vegetarian friendly. I was there a year ago and can easily find vegetarian food.

Grab the brochure (park guide/map) and there is indication beside the restaurants or eateries that vegetarian option is available (it is represented by a mini broccoli icon, I think).

So far, only Discovery Food Court didn't have a proper vegetarian meal choice, that was a year ago, not too sure, have they changed it or not, as I did feedback to them.

You will be fine and have fun there.

Cheers :)

Just went recently. There is a soup noodle @$5 at Hollywood China. A big bowl with lots of different veggie and mushrooms with clear soup. No mock meats. Quite filling, cheap and nice! Cheapest items on the menu plus free glass of water! Haha ... Given the ambience.
